Check-in & collection
Check-in and collection of pets is by appointment only. Please telephone to arrange a mutually convenient time prior to checking your pet(s) in for boarding with us.
We reserve the right to turn away any guests which we believe are not in good health as they are best kept at home if recovering from illness. This is also to protect our other guests from any illness which could be contagious.
We recommend rabbits are vaccinated against VHD and Myxomatosis. At present there are no vaccinations required for guinea pigs or other small animals. We will not board an animal without these injections due to the increased risk of disease or exposure to other boarders. Proof must be provided, please bring your vaccination certificate ON ARRIVAL. Animals must also have a flea and mite prevention before your pest stay. If you have not done this a charge of £4.00 will be added to your bill. If you have treated your pet before your stay we must see a receipt or invoice which shows the purchase of the product. The date on the invoice/ receipt must be within 7 days of the arrival date.
In the unlikely event that your pet should show any signs of illness we will contact you on your emergency contact number to discuss the situation and transport them to either your vet if local or our vet for treatment. Any veterinary fees incurred for treatment will be payable by yourself on return/collection of your pet. . If your pet is under veterinary care and receiving treatment for non-contagious medical condition/s, we are happy to assist in your pet’s medical programme by administering prescribed drugs and/or injections on your behalf free of charge. Please ensure your pet has enough medication for the duration of his or her stay.
The health and wellbeing of our guests is extremely important to us, and for the care, concern and health of animals boarding at our establishment, we reserve the right at all times to refuse for boarding any animal exhibiting signs of injury and/or ill health NOT in receipt of veterinary treatment. We also reserve the right not to accept animals with contagious diseases for example pasturella and vent disease in rabbits or chronic mange in guinea pigs, which may seriously compromise the health of other boarders.
Non-collection of pet
Should you be unable to collect your pet at the time and date agreed when booking, please let us know as soon as possible and re-arrange a new collection date. Should you neglect to inform us that you will be unable to collect your pet on the agreed day and we are unable to contact you, after 15 days we reserve the right to re-home your pet. we will assume you have abandoned your pet and will commence legal proceedings to recover continuing boarding costs.
Please ensure you supply us with your pet’s daily dry mix upon arrival, sufficient for your rabbit or guinea pig’s stay. Please put food in a named plastic container.
Rabbits and /or guinea pigs sharing a hutch, which begin displaying signs of aggression and/or sexual harassment toward each other, may be separated at our discretion for the safety, health and well being of the animals. The owner of any pets, which have to be separated, will incur the extra costs of boarding.
We do not board pregnant animals. Any doe or sow boarding with us, who gives birth to a litter while in our care, will remain with the litter under our supervision, until the kits or piglets are weaned for the security of the mother and the survival of the litter. The owner will incur the extra costs of boarding.
Your pet’s health, safety and welfare are of paramount importance to us, in the unlikely event of a death occurring, we will contact you if possible to make suitable arrangements. If we are unsuccessful in contacting you, we will hold your pet in cold storage for 24 hours since death. After this
